Bills

Navigating your new life in Lithuania includes understanding how to manage and pay your bills.

Utility Bills

In Lithuania, you will need to pay for various utilities, including electricity, water, gas, and waste collection. These bills are usually issued monthly, and payment can be made via bank transfer, at post offices, or through online banking.

Key Providers

  • Electricity: You can choose between several electricity providers, such as Ignitis, Enefit, or Electrum. To compare prices and find the best option for your needs, click here
  • Water: Each local municipality has its own water supply company. You can find the list of providers in your area here
  • Heating: Each local municipality has its own heat supply company. You can find the list of providers in your area here
  • Gas: Gas services are available from Ignitis and other providers. Check with your local providers for options in your area
  • Waste Collection: Waste collection is managed by your local municipality. Contact them to arrange the service, and keep in mind that waste collection is usually billed annually
  • Other services (administration): In addition to your main utilities, you’ll also be charged monthly for extra services, such as elevator maintenance, electricity in common areas, cleaning services etc

If you live in an apartment building, the main utility services are usually already set up. All you need to do is transfer the agreement to your name (or keep it under the landlord's name if you're renting). If any services are not available, you’ll need to contact the providers directly to arrange the setup.

Internet and TV

For internet and TV services, you can choose from several providers. Bills for these services are generally issued monthly.

Your mobile phone bill will depend on your chosen plan — prepaid or contract. Prepaid plans require you to top up your balance as needed, while contract plans are billed monthly.
